Changes to "Payment and Settlement Statistics"

The Bank of Japan publishes the "Payment and Settlement Statistics" which shows the data on major Japanese payment and settlement systems, such as the volume and value of settlements.

From the release of "Payment and Settlement Statistics (November 2022)," the Bank will make the following changes.

Changes to data related to clearing of bills and checks

The Tokyo Clearing House was abolished and replaced by the Electronic Clearing House on November 4, 2022. To reflect this change, data related to bills and checks exchanged at the Electronic Clearing House will be newly added.

The Tokyo Clearing House data will no longer be available from the release of "Payment and Settlement Statistics (January 2023)."
