The Bank of Japan, on and after Today, revised the format of "Sources of Changes in Current Account Balances at the Bank of Japan and Market Operations" as follows.

(1) One new item, "Purchase/ Sale of Japanese Government Securities under Repurchase Agreements" was added in "BOJ Loans and Market Operations" and the item of "Purchase/Sale of TBs/FBs under Repurchase Agreements" was deleted. The item of "Borrowing of JGBs against Cash Collateral (JGB repo)" will be deleted when the outstanding balances reach to zero.

This revision followed the introduction of "Purchase/Sale of Japanese Government Securities under Repurchase Agreements" and the abolition of "Purchase/Sale of TBs/FBs under Repurchase Agreements" and "Borrowing of JGBs against Cash Collateral (JGB repo)".

(2) In "BOJ Loans and Market Operations", only transactions relating to monetary control will be put.

The Stock Purchase (the guidelines were approved by the Policy Board on Oct. 11th) will be put in "Treasury funds and others".

The loans contributing to the maintenance of an orderly financial system, which are presently put in "BOJ Loans and Market Operations", will be also put in "Treasury funds and others".
