QuestionWhere can I learn about individuals' financial literacy and household finances?

Answer

The Financial Literacy Survey (Link to an external website) focuses on knowledge, attitude, and behavior regarding money and other financial areas among individuals aged 18 or older. The survey has been conducted once every three years since 2016 by the Central Council for Financial Services Information (CCFSI) -- the organization of which the Bank serves as the secretariat.

Moreover, the Survey of Household Finances (available only in Japanese) is also conducted by the CCFSI. The survey covers topics of households' financial assets and liabilities, housing acquisition planning, and life planning. It is conducted once a year on single-person households and households consisting of two or more people.
